Beware of Dog

If you've been to our shop in the last 8 years, you've probably been barked at by Pete & Annie's German Shepherd, Nemo.  Don't feel bad - she even barks at the employees sometimes - even though we're here everyday.  Most of the time she just has to bark until she realizes that you're ok and can sniff to make sure and then she just wants to be pet.

Nemo is the third German Shepherd Pete has owned and while she has a definite personality of her own, she's not quite the boatyard dog that Max and Hippie were.  This would likely be different if she wasn't so scared of loud noises and wasn't so concerned with going to town to be sociable!  Ergo, she stays in the office where she gets very bored and will occasionally complain to the girls in the office about being stuck inside.

Annie and Pete have passed their love of German Shepherds onto their kids and now have three grand-dogs as well!  While Nemo likes bigger dogs instead of smaller ones, she winds up feeling very old when the puppies come to visit and is happy to get a rest when they leave!

New Deck Surface!

New Nonskid

One of the Eastbays that we have in the shop for the winter is here for a refit that includes new nonskid, varnish and sprucing up the aft teak deck.  The new nonskid went on at the end of last week and looks great!  The guys have been working on the varnish and that should be just about finished.  The aft teak deck is being refastened and replugged and will be sanded so that it will be looking like new!

She's Gone!

The Pearson that we've been finishing up a major refit left the shop on Tuesday!  She went to a yard in Baltimore where the rigging will be finished and should be splashed in just about a month!
