Hampton Sailboats

Whew!  January is getting away from us!  Most of the boats are covered up with plastic due to other ongoing projects and I can never seem to catch them while they are uncovered and being worked on!  This is pretty much what it looks like in the shop:
Boats Covered in Plastic to Keep Clean

One of our many ongoing projects is a Hampton that has been returned to us this winter for a spruce up after 11+ years.  The Hampton One Design (HOD) Sailboats were the first boats that MathewsBros built.  When they first opened shop in 1995, they were focused on repairs and refits - something that has come full circle!  A year or so into their business, the HOD class approached them about building their boats.  To date they've built a total of 19 Hamptons.
The Hampton in the shop this winter is getting a gel coat touch up as well as all new varnish.  The old varnish has been stripped off and the mahogany has been re-sealed - it's ready for new varnish!
